David Corr, a master’s graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, is an Irish vocalist
celebrated for his versatile performances across Irish and English song, oratorio, and opera.
He has performed on some of the most prestigious stages, including the Grand Opera House
in Belfast, the National Opera House in Wexford, Dublin’s National Concert Hall, Wigmore
Hall in London, and the Royal Overseas League’s Princess Alexandra Hall.
Career highlights include his masterclass with Dame Janet Baker in 2022, winning the
Deborah Voigt Opera Prize and the Voice of Northern Ireland award, and his portrayal of Joe
in Northern Ireland Opera’s commissioned work, Nobody/Somebody, the same year. Recently,
David appeared as Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte in Berlin.
David has earned numerous awards, including the O’Mara Cup (Male Voices Operatic
Competition) and the Young Cup (Drawing Room Ballads) at Feis Ceoil. He was also
awarded the Irish Heritage Brackaville Bursary for Vocal Studies, leading to a recital at the
Blackwater Valley Opera Festival.
David’s distinguished solo oratorio performances include Oratorio de Noël by Camille Saint-
Saëns, Haydn’s Creation, and Handel’s Messiah. His notable work in the Royal Conservatoire
of Scotland’s opera scenes includes roles as Le Dancaïre (Carmen), Don Alfonso (Così fan
tutte), and Mercurio (La Calisto). In 2022, he performed in RCS’s scenes as Albert (Werther)
and Taddeo (L’italiana in Algeri).
