About David Corr

David Corr is an award-winning Irish tenor and a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, celebrated for his versatility across Irish and English song, oratorio, and opera. He has performed on some of the most prestigious stages in Ireland and the UK, including the Grand Opera House Belfast, the National Opera House Wexford, Dublins National Concert Hall, Wigmore Hall in London, and the Royal Overseas Leagues Princess Alexandra Hall.

Career Highlights

Career highlights include a masterclass with Dame Janet Baker in 2022, winning both the Deborah Voigt Opera Prize and the Voice of Northern Ireland Award, and his portrayal of Joe in Northern Ireland Opera’s commissioned work Nobody/Somebody. Most recently, David appeared as Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte in Berlin.

David has earned numerous accolades, including the O’Mara Cup (Male Voices Operatic Competition) and the Young Cup (Drawing Room Ballads) at Feis Ceoil. He was also awarded the Irish Heritage Brackaville Bursary for Vocal Studies, leading to a recital at the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival. His distinguished solo oratorio repertoire includes Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, Haydn’s The Creation, and Handel’s Messiah.

In addition to his solo career, David is the co-founder of Sonaírí, an Irish classical vocal duo which he established with soprano Amie Dyer. Since its inception, the duo has enjoyed significant success, performing widely in recitals, concert series, and corporate engagements, and quickly establishing a reputation for refined programming and expressive musicianship.
